NIGC, Kogas ink LNG MOU

National Iranian Gas Company (NIGC) on Sunday signed a memorandum of understanding with the South Korean LNG import company Kogas for cooperation in the gas industry.

According to NIGC’s statement, the two companies agreed to cooperate in mini LNG projects.

Additionally, the two companies agreed to cooperate in construction and operation of the IGAT-9 and 11 pipelines as well as the Iran-Oman subsea gas pipeline.

Iran is looking to use Oman’s LNG export capacity in order to grab its share of the liquefied natural gas market.

National Iranian Gas Export company’s managing director, Alireza Kameli in January said Iran is looking to pump 28 million cubic meters of gas per day to Oman, up 30 percent of which will be allocated to LNG.
