Noble finds new work for jack-up duo

Offshore driller Noble Corporation has been awarded new jack-up drilling contracts in the North Sea and Middle East region.

In its fleet status report released on Thursday Noble Corp. said that the Noble Houston Colbert jack-up rig has been awarded a contract with an undisclosed operator in the UK North Sea. The contract is scheduled to start in May 2019 and end in November of that same year.

The 2014-built rig is currently operated by Dolphin with an end date set for early February 2019. The rig is of a Friede & Goldman JU3000N design built by Sembcorp Marine’s Jurong Shipyard.

In Qatar, the Noble Mick O’Brien jack-up has won a new deal with Qatar Gas, starting in June 2018. The contract’s end date is set for January 2019. The dayrate has not been disclosed.

According to the status report, this rig has been working for an unnamed operator in the UAE region since August last year and is scheduled to complete this contract in June this year.

Built in 2013 by Jurong, the Noble Mick O’Brien is also of a Friede & Goldman JU3000N design.
