Block No.4 for Newbuilding 126 Placed in Correct Position at Simek Yard

Simek yard has now sandblasted, painted and placed in the correct position Block No.4 for the PSV of UT 755 LC design. When the painting of the whole ship is done, it will be ready for sea launching scheduled for May 12th.

After the launching, scheduled for July 12th 2012, the block No.5 will be assembled by a floating crane.

The UT 755 LC is a development of the popular UT 755 series vessel, designed specifically for supplying equipment to oil and gas platforms. It will have an extended hull and larger deck space to increase the capacity for transportation of solid and liquid cargo.

Simek is a modern and well-equipped yard on the southern coast of Norway. So far, Simek has build and delivered 124 ships in its 44 years history, and has few more vessels in its orderbook, until November 2013. Simek AS presently has about 165 employees. Major emphasis is placed on training and certifying its staff. The company makes extensive use of apprentice ship programmes, enabling young people to become skilled workers in their field.
