Norway: ConocoPhillips Allowed to Use Maersk Innovator on Ekofisk

ConocoPhillips Skandinavia (ConocoPhillips) has received consent to use the jack-up drilling facility Mærsk Innovator for well work on Ekofisk 2/4-E Tor.

The consent relates to plugging and abandoning four wells, and also re-completing a well.

According to the application, the work is expected to start in August 2010, with an expected duration of 185 days (P50).

Water depth at Ekofisk 2/4-E Tor is 67 metres

The Mærsk Innovator is a mobile facility (jack-up) operated by Maersk Drilling Norge.

The facility was built at Hyundai in 2003. The legs are 205 metres long and the facility can operate at water depths of up to 150 metres.

The Mærsk Innovator received the PSA’s Acknowledgement of Compliance (AoC) in May 2003.
