Norway: Det Norske Gets Permission to Drill at Skaugumsasen Prospect

Det norske has recieved Norwegian Petroleum Directorate’s permission to drill exploration well 6508/1-2 at the Skaugumsåsen prospect.

The prospect is located in production license PL482 in the Norwegian Sea, south east of Norne. See illustration at the left for location, press for bigger. Det norske is the operator and owns 65 percent.

The well will be drilled with Aker Barents (photo) after termination of the Dovregubben well drilled for Det norske now.

Water depth in the area is 390 meters.
