Norway: Dolphin Geophysical Appoints Gil Howell as Manager Multi-Client NASA

Dolphin Geophysical announced that Gil Howell has been named Manager Multi-Client NASA.

Gil will manage the Design, Marketing and Sales of Multi-Client 2D and 3D seismic surveys, in the NASA region. Gil brings a wealth of knowledge from the oil and gas industry, with a career that has spanned over 28 years. Gil received a BS in Computer Science from Duke University before he started his career in 1984 as a Seismic Programmer working for GeoSystems and Professional Geophysics Inc. Gil spent time as a Programmer, Research Programmer and Programming Manager before his move to Digicon Geophysical in 1992 where he was responsible for managing the interactive graphics and land TANGO programming groups.

Gil transitioned to Veritas Marine Surveys in 2005 as Data Sales Manager with the initial responsibilities of licensing data to smaller and new entrants into the Gulf of Mexico with an emphasis on risk-reward deals. Gil quickly took on additional clients in the Deep Water Gulf of Mexico and Brazil and had an integral role in the move of Veritas and later CGGVeritas into the Wide Azimuth market.

Gil will report to Ian T. Edwards, Vice President Global Multi-Client who said “Gil brings to Dolphin a unique and up-to-date working knowledge of the US Gulf of Mexico Multi-Client business and will provide support for our International projects”.

Tim Wells, President Western Hemisphere added: “Having Gil’s experience in Houston will strengthen our Multi-Client sales team and help us in accelerating the creation of a Multi-Client database in the NASA region.”
