Norway: FPSO battered by storm (VIDEO)

This week we shared a video of the Borgholm Dolphin semi-submersible accommodation rig in the UK North Sea, being rocked by high waves and strong winds.

The video we’re sharing today shows the Alvheim FPSO being battered by the winter storm Nina. The Alvheim FPSO is located in the Norwegian part of the North Sea.

According to skymetweather.com, extreme winter storm ‘Nina’ has hit the west coast of Norway on January 11, with wind speed of 166 kmph, leaving 73,000 households without electricity.

The caption of the video says it all: Alvheim FPSO. Norway. Hurricane 01/10/2015. Wind about 93 knots. 173 kmh. 107 miles. Waves about 20 meters.”
