Norway’s oil & gas output goes up

Norway recorded an increase in oil and gas production in December 2023 compared to the volumes seen during the month before, November 2022, and the figures included in the Norwegian Offshore Directorate’s predictions.

According to the NPD’s recent report, preliminary production figures for December 2023 show an average daily production of 2 096 000 barrels of oil, NGL, and condensate.

Total gas sales were 11.75 billion Sm3 (GSm3), which is 0.8 (GSm3) higher than the previous month.

Average daily liquids production in December was: 1 847 000 barrels of oil, 228 000 barrels of NGL, and 21 000 barrels of condensate.

Oil production in December is 1.9 percent higher than the Norwegian Offshore Directorate’s forecast and 0.5 percent lower than the forecast this year.

The total petroleum production in 2023 is about 234.3 million Sm3 oil equivalents (MSm3 o.e.), broken down as follows: about 104.1 MSm3 o.e. of oil, about 12.9 MSm3 o.e. of NGL and condensate and about 117.3 MSm3 o.e. of gas for sale. The total volume is 0.2 MSm3 o.e. higher than in 2022.
