Norwegian LNG cargo heading for Barcelona

Teekay’s LNG carrier, the 165,500 cbm Meridian Spirit is set to deliver a Norwegian cargo of liquefied natural gas to Spain. 

According to the shipping data, the 2010-built LNG carrier, chartered by France’s Total, departed Statoil’s Hammerfest LNG facility on Melkoya island on March 6.

The vessel has set course for Enagas-operated Barcelona LNG terminal where it is scheduled to arrive around March 16.

The Barcelona LNG terminal has a maximum storage capacity of 840,000 cbm in a total of eight storage tanks and is able to receive carriers with the capacity of up to 266,000 cubic meters.

The facility was commissioned in 1969.
