Novatek granted LNG export license

Novatek granted LNG export license.

Novatek, Russian independent gas producer and owner of a 60 percent stake in the Yamal LNG project, has been granted the permission to export the chilled gas.

According to the Deputy Energy Minister Kirill Molodtsov, the license was signed by Energy Minister Alexander Novak on September 5, reports ITAR-TASS.

Earlier in the year Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev signed a resolution to grant the LNG export rights to four Russian giants Rosneft, Gazprom, Gazprom-export and Yamal LNG. This resolution put an end to Gazprom’s monopoly on the export rights.
