NPD hands out deals to eleven oil services suppliers

The Norwegian Petroleum Directorate (NPD), a government agency in charge of the country’s petroleum sector, has awarded framework agreements to eleven supplier firms.

The agency explained in a statement on Friday that the contracts were awarded to companies representing various technology areas in order to “ensure sufficient capacity to be an even better champion for developing new fields and improving recovery from producing fields.”

The contractors will provide professional assistance within their specialty areas, and the NPD will utilize this expertise in its work to follow-up developments on the Norwegian shelf and on operational fields, the regulator explained.

The tender competition targeted external companies with relevant technical expertise and the parallel framework agreements have a duration of two years, with options for extending the agreements with one plus one year.

Framework agreements for subsurface technology, reservoir geology and reservoir technology were awarded to AGR Petroleum Services, Ross Offshore and Larsen Reservoir and for drilling and well technology to AGR Petroleum Services, Ocean Maxwell and Acona.

Furthermore, agreements for development technology and operation of installations and facilities went to Rambøll Oil & Gas, Acona and Aker Solutions and those for seabed technology and infrastructure also went to Acona and Aker Solutions and Genesis Oil and Gas Consultants Norway.

In addition, agreements for land facilities, technology, infrastructure and capacities were handed out to Kvaerner, Aibel, and Aker Solutions and for disposal of facilities to Kværner, Dr Techn Olav Olsen and Genesis Oil and Gas Consultants.
