Oceanographic Project Underway Offshore Iran

Ports & Maritime Organization announced that the head of National Oceanography Institute said that presently three oceanographic projects are being conducted in the Persian Gulf, Oman Sea and Caspian Sea.

He also said that these projects are expected to be completed by the year end. Bordering Persian Gulf in the south and Caspian Sea in the north, Iran enjoys 5800 km of coastlines.

These project concerns analytical oceanographic data and statistics in these three water bodies. The results of the monitoring studies will be published in books next year.

The head of Iranian National Oceanographic Institute said that negotiations have been made with a number of countries located in the South Pole area with a view to exchange views and experiences with respect to oceanographic activities.
