Offshore-Terminal Bremerhaven Gets Building Approval

The construction of Offshore-Terminal Bremerhaven (OTB), a EUR 180 million project that will serve the offshore wind industry, has been approved.

On 27 November, bremenports GmbH & Co. KG, a company responsible for the planning of the project, received the approval from the Authority for the Environment, Construction and Transport.

As a modern facility with a high heavy-duty capacity, the OTB is unique on the German North Sea coast and offers the best possible infrastructure for wind energy companies, Bremerhaven’s mayor Melf Grantz said.

The OTB will have a 500m quay connected with a logistics area of 25 hectares and will be operated by BLG Logistics Group.

The commissioning of the terminal is planned for 2019/2020.
