Offshore worker airlifted from North Sea platform

An offshore worker has been airlifted from a UK North Sea platform due to a medical emergency. 

Following reports that an offshore worker was evacuated from a North Sea platform on Friday, August 12, 2016, Offshore Energy Today reached out to UK’s Maritime and Coastguard Agency (MCA) seeking more details about the case.

The spokesperson for the MCA confirmed that an offshore crewman had been airlifted from a North Sea platform. The worker was then flown by a Rescue BOND 1 helicopters to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary.

The agency provided no further details about the worker’s condition nor the name of the platform from which he had been airlifted.
