Potential entrants for the Oil & Gas UK Awards 2014 have an extra week to submit their nominations.

Oil & Gas UK Awards Deadline for nominations extended

Oil & Gas UK has granted an extension to the deadline for nominations – which will now close at 5pm on Friday 22 August – allowing more time for entrants to share their stories.
The eighth annual Oil & Gas UK Awards, sponsored by Shell U.K. Limited, will take place at Aberdeen’s Exhibition and Conference Centre on the evening of Thursday 6 November and will celebrate the most outstanding companies and inspirational people working in the offshore oil and gas industry.

With the two company awards: the Oil & Gas UK Award for Investment in People, sponsored by Petrotechnics Limited and the Oil & Gas UK Award for Business Innovation, sponsored by BP, split into two categories, one for large and the other for smaller companies, for the first time this year’s awards will also encourage a more diverse range of players in the sector to share their achievements.

In addition, outstanding individuals will be recognised with awards for Mentor of the Year, sponsored by Chevron North Sea Limited; Apprentice of the Year, sponsored by ECITB; and

Graduate of the Year, sponsored by the University of Aberdeen all being announced on the night.

Stephen Marcos Jones, Oil & Gas UK’s business development director, commented: “The nominations we received last year were of great quality, and judging by the forms we have received to date – competition is set to be as tough. We hope that by granting requests for this extension, we’ll be giving the companies and individuals leading our industry the best opportunity to promote their achievements.”
