Omnitek appoints Inland Waste as authorized conversion center

Omnitek Engineering has appointed Inland Waste Solutions as an authorized diesel-to-natural gas conversion center, and delivered an initial order for a converted EPA-approved 12-liter Mack E7 engine to the Austin, Texas-based company.

The initial order is part of Inland Waste Solution’s goal to convert its entire fleet of more than 200 vehicles to operate on natural gas, and also add diesel-to-natural gas engine conversion services at its state-of-the art truck refurbishing facility located in Augusta, Georgia for other corporate and municipal customers in the Southwest region.

Funk highlighted Inland Waste’s leadership position in the waste collection industry and its commitment to reducing carbon emissions through the utilization of CNG-powered vehicles.

Omnitek Engineering is developing additional diesel-to-natural gas engine conversion kits to address increasing interest from trucking fleets in a wide variety of industries that operate a variety of diesel engine models.

Funk noted that Omnitek’s conversion technology offers a projected payback on investment of less than two years – a significant advantage compared with a projected payback-period of five-to-seven years for a new natural gas truck purchase.
