OMV Gets Approval for Two Barents Sea Wells

OMV Norge AS, a Norwegian subsidiary of Austrian oil company OMV AG, has been granted a consent for drilling of two exploration wells in the Barent Sea.

The wells  7324/8-1  and 7324/7-1 S,  located in the Production Licence 537, will be drilled by the Leiv Eiriksson semi-submersible drilling rig.

Wildcat well 7324/8-1 is the first exploration well in production licence 537.

The production licence consists of blocks 7324/7 and 7324/8. The production licence was awarded in the 20th licensing round in 2009.
