Oregon LNG Wants US FERC to Start Early Environmental Review of LNG Terminal

US Federal Energy Regulatory Commission was asked by Oregon LNG to start an environmental review of the proposed LNG import/export terminal earlier, reports Platts.

FERC process is going forward, even though the Department of Energy has put few LNG export applications on hold, said Peter Hansen, the project manager.

He said: “The whole permitting process for a large LNG facility is so complicated, if you sit around and wait for this, that and the other to fall into place, you will never get it done.”

In 2008, the company submitted an application for building an LNG import facility and pipeline.

Oregon LNG now wants to expand the application with adding LNG export facilities and to do great changes on the pipeline route. They plan to file the changed application for LNG import/export terminal early next year.
