Origin Energy shuffles leadership team

Origin Energy, that owns a 37.5 percent stake in the Australia Pacific LNG project, made a number of changes to the membership and structure of its leadership team.

Frank Calabria, Origin’s CEO said that, “these changes remove a leadership layer from the Energy Markets business, simplify the structure and bring operational leadership roles up onto the leadership team.”

He added that the six new members reflect the company’s need to deliver better operational performance as it braces for the future in the changing industry.

As part of the leadership team, David Baldwin remains in his position as CEO, Integrated gas, and Andrew Clarke remains as group general counsel and company secretary.

“An executive search is underway for the role of CFO and for the newly created position of executive general manager, corporate affairs,” Calabria said.

Acting CFO Gary Mallett will continue in his position while the search process continues, and Ben Bolot will continue in the role of acting general manager, strategy and development, both reporting to the CEO, Calabria.

Origin expects to announce appointments to the two vacant roles early in 2017.

New additions to the leadership team are, Jon Briskin, named as executive general manager, Origin retail, Greg Jarvis, named as executive general manager, energy supply and operations. Anthony Lucas has been named executive general manager, future energy and business development, while Sharon Ridgway has been named executive general manager, people and culture.
