ORPC Ireland is seeking to add a Mechanical Engineer to its team who would work on the design of marine hydrokinetic turbine system.

As a Mechanical Engineer working for the wholly owned subsidiary of Ocean Renewable Power Company, ORPC Ireland, the successful candidate will be tasked with providing mechanical engineering and design services for the company.

The scope of work, as part of multidisciplinary and cooperative team operating in multiple locations throughout Europe and North America, also includes executing system engineering methodologies to optimize reliability, safety, and system performance, and providing modelling, design, and analysis of control systems.

The starting date for the position has been set for January 16, 2017.

To remind, the US-based hydrokinetic technology developer Ocean Renewable Power Company established its Irish subsidiary last year with the aim to seize the ocean energy opportunities in that country.

Since then, ORPC Ireland received funding through the European Commission’s Horizon 2020 program to advance its hydrokinetic technology as part of the TAOIDE project, which has been formally launched mid-November 2016.
