Ørsted Backs Dutch Sea Rescue Institution

Ørsted and The Royal Netherlands Sea Rescue Institution (KNRM) have established a partnership under which the offshore wind developer will help KNRM with fundraising and will financially support four coastal rescue stations.

The collaboration starts in the province of Zeeland where Ørsted is developing the Borssele 1+2 offshore wind project.

The cooperation will be extended if Ørsted wins further offshore wind tenders in the Netherlands.

Edward Swiss, Administrator Business Network KNRM: “It is good to see how much Ørsted recognises the value of the KNRM for its offshore activities and that science also contributes to the preservation of our rescue stations along the Zeeland Coast. “

The Borssele 1 + 2 offshore wind project will comprise 94 Siemens Gamesa 8MW turbines located 22km from the coast of Zeeland.

The commissioning of the wind farm is scheduled for the end of 2020.
