MRE will provide the full temporary power solution, service technicians, and both crew transfer and walk-to-work vessels, during the construction phase of the 1.4 GW offshore wind farm.

“When the company was founded in 2013, we set our sights on becoming the leading provider of temporary power to the offshore wind market and to undertake multi-disciplined marine projects, such as this; we’ve been fortunate enough to work with Ørsted on several projects and we look forward to building on that solid relationship,” said MRE Director Toby Mead.

Hornsea Two will comprise 165 Siemens Gamesa 8 MW turbines installed in the waters some 89 km north-east of Grimsby.

The 1.4 GW offshore wind farm, which entered offshore construction in October 2020, is scheduled for commissioning in 2022.
