Oshima Delivers Kamsarmax 'Bahri Arasco'

The National Shipping Company of Saudi Arabia (Bahri) yesterday announced that its subsidiary Bahri Dry Bulk has taken delivery of the ‘Bahri Arasco’, the first of five Kamsarmax vessels ordered from Oshima Shipbuilding (Japan) in 2012.

This nextgeneration dry bulk vessel, with a capacity of 82,000 DWT, has the length of 229 meters, and features modern fuel saving technologies.

The remaining four vessels, currently under construction at the Japanese yard, will be delivered in the first half of 2014.

In November, Bahri Dry Bulk and Bank Albilad entered into a SAR 420 million (approx $112 million) credit facility to finance 70% of the cost of building the 5 dry bulk vessels.
