Painkillers, not cocaine found on Piper Bravo

Powder found on Piper Bravo platform turns out to be a legal medicine and not cocaine as previously suspected.

Talisman Sinopec, operator of the North Sea platform, on Saturday informed Police Scotland of an unknown substance found on the Piper Bravo. After that, all personnel on board underwent substance-testing by medics.

However, according to BBC, Police Scotland said that tests “established the packages did not contain illegal substances but crushed medication commonly used for pain relief”.

Piper Bravo is an eight-legged fixed steel jacket supported platform, located 193 kilometres northeast of Aberdeen in the central North Sea. It stands in 145 metres of water.
