Panama Canal Authority Implements CARIS Bathy DataBASE
The Panama Canal Authority has recently adopted CARIS Bathy DataBASE for the storing and management of the Canal´s bathymetric information.
The waterway’s heavy traffic and expansion operations called for a robust and efficient method to manage survey data. The implementation of Bathy DataBASE will also contribute to the constant monitoring of navigation channel conditions, as well as ongoing dredging operations.
The Panama Canal Authority has been using CARIS HPD since 2012 for chart production as part of the Panama Canal expansion project. It is expected that the Panama Canal Authority will be making full use of CARIS Bathy DataBASE by the end of 2014.
