Paradise Cruise & Ferry Acquires Second Vessel for Black Sea Fleet

The fleet of Paradise Cruise & Ferry has been expanded with the Poseidon Express, second cargo-passenger vessel of Ro-Pax class, the company announced.

The Poseidon Express was bought from Finnlines (the ferry’s former name is Translubeca). She will be operated at the company’s route Novorossiysk – Trabzon – Poti – Novorossiysk.

The project operator is International Continental Marine LLC. The new ferry line will commence operating at the route as early as in December 2013. The project implementation is a significant part of the plans aimed by Paradise Cruise & Ferry at revival of shipping in Russian ports of the Black Sea, the statement says.

Poseidon Express was built at Stocnia Gdansk shipyard in 1990. Under RINA classification, she is a Ro-Ro passenger vessel. Major characteristics: length – 153.4 m, width – 24.2 m. The vessel can carry some 6,000 tonnes of cargo as well as sea containers (up to 300 TEUs). The ferry has 4 cargo decks with total length of 1,910 m, which allows carrying some 110 truck trailers and additionally 75 passenger cars at automobile deck. The lower deck is intended for transportation of cooled cargoes. The ship can accommodate 17 crew members and 109 passengers.

The passenger complex of the new ferry complies with latest quality standards. The vessel will be deployed for linking the ports of Russia, Turkey and Georgia and for transportation of foreign trade Ro-Ro cargoes of Black Sea countries and nearby regions, Ukraine, Caucasus countries, Iran and Middle East.

In June 2013, the company purchased cruise ferry ship Isabella 1 for 2,000 passengers and 350 automobiles for Crimea-Caucasus Line, which will commence operation in spring 2014 at Batumi – Sochi – Yalta – Odessa route.

According to Igor Glukhov, Director General of Paradise Cruise & Ferry, the fleet expansion with vessels meeting the demands of growing network will ensure stable improvement of the company’s performance when providing its customers with high quality services.

Paradise Cruise & Ferry was founded in 2013 by co-owners and managers of ferry operator St PETER LINE for operations in the Black Sea region.
