Paris MoU Bans Two

The Paris Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), acting on behalf of 27 participating maritime administrations, has banned two vessels this month from its waters following their third strikes.

On 17th July 2015,  general cargo ship M/V Georgiana H with IMO number 8911413 was detained in Marina di Carrara, Italy. This is the ship’s third detention in the Paris MoU region within the last 24 months.

The ship flies the flag of Republic of Togo which is black on the current Paris MoU WGB list.

On 3rd March 2015, general cargo ship M/V Andrey Osipov, with IMO number 8711306 was detained in Brake/Bremerhaven (Germany). This is also the ship’s third detention in the Paris MoU region within the last 24 months.

The 1994-built ship flies the flag of St. Kitts and Nevis (at first PSC visit), which is grey on the current Paris MoU WGB list.

The ships will be refused further access to any port and anchorages in the Paris MoU region, except for the ports of the ships’ flag states.

The refusal of access is valid from 17th July 2015 and will become applicable immediately after the ships are authorized to leave their ports and anchorages.

As this is the first refusal of access order for both ships the period of the refusal of access will be 3 months.
