Perenco Invests in Loreto Region, Peru

Perenco continues to strengthen its contribution to economic dynamism of Loreto, by commissioning – directly and through third companies, the construction of fluvial crafts and infrastructure to the prestigious company SIMA – Iquitos, the largest shipyard in the Peruvian Amazon with a long history and international reputation.

The investment of all the companies involved, which amounts to about $8 million, will be invested in the construction of a pontoon, gangway and new barges, using experienced local workforce and the highest safety and quality standards. Just as Perenco did with the Peruvian Navy, the Government of Loreto Region and the Peruvian Amazon Research Institution, this new partnership strengthens the company’s commitment to the development of the Loreto Region.
