The Peruvian liquefied natural gas (LNG) export facility at Pampa Melchorita shipped its first cargo for the month of February to Europe.

According to the shipping data provided by the state-owned Perupetro, the 138,000-cbm Bilbao Knutsen departed the liquefaction plant on February 5 and set course for Spain.

Perupetro did not say to which regasification plant the fuel will be delivered.

Peru LNG sent out five cargoes in January, two to Japan and Spain, each, while one shipment went to South Korea.

The LNG export facility shipped 444 vessels in total since it started operations in June 2010.

Peru LNG is owned by a consortium of Hunt Oil Company (50%), SK Energy (20%), Shell (20%), and Marubeni (10%).
