Peru’s only natural gas liquefaction and export facility at Pampa Melchorita shipped a cargo to Japan.

The cargo was loaded on board the 155,000-cbm LNG carrier Solaris, owned by GasLog, on November 22, data from the state-owned Perupetro shows.

The exact destination of only the second cargo shipped to Japan in 2016 has not been revealed. The previous cargo was dispatched in March aboard Hispania Spirit.

Peru’s liquefaction and export facility exported five cargoes so far in October and this is the second to head for Mexico, following three cargoes shipped to Spain.  It is the fourth cargo Solaris picked up at the facility.

With the latest shipment, Peru’s 4.4 mtpa liquefaction plant dispatched 359 cargoes in total, since it began operations in June 2010.
