Peruvian April LNG cargoes land in South Korea, Japan

Peruvian liquefied natural gas (LNG) export facility in Pampa Melchorita closed the month of April with six cargoes dispatched, all landing in South Korea and Japan. 

According to the data provided by the state-owned Perupetro, four out of the six cargoes headed to South Korea, while the remaining two landed in Japan.

Compared to the previous month, the number of cargoes shipped by the Peruvian facility increased by one cargo.

In terms of volumes, the plant dispatched 920,439 cubic meters of LNG or 414,540 metric tons during the month. South Korea received 615,726 cubic meters of natural gas with the remaining 304,713 cubic meters landing in Japan.

The latest cargo was loaded on April 30, onboard the Shell-chartered Maran Gas Delphi capable of transporting 159,800 cubic meters of the chilled fuel.

With the six cargoes dispatched during past month, the facility’s total rose to 456 since it started operations in June 2010.

The 4.45 million tons per year gas liquefaction plant is located 170 kilometers south of Lima and receives gas via a 408-kilometer pipeline built across the Andes.
