According to a statement by the Brazilian oil company, the level of oil output has reached 428 thousand barrels per day (bpd) , which sets a new daily production record.

This record production resulted from increased output at the P-58 platform, which entered operation on March 17, 2014 in the offshore complex called the Whale Park, in Espírito Santo part of the Campos Basin. P-58 already produces about 50,000 bpd.

The new level of production was achieved via 24 producing wells, 15 wells in the Campos Basin and nine in the Santos Basin. These wells produced respectively 222,000 bpd and 206,000 bpd.

By the end of 2014 fifteen new wells are expected to enter production, eleven in the Santos Basin and four in the Campos Basin.

Two wells will be connected to the FPSO Cidade de Sao Paulo, five to the FPSO Cidade de Paraty, one to the P-48 platform and three to the P-58 platform. All the platforms are already installed and in operation. Additionally, two new wells will be connected to the FPSO Cidade de Ilhabela and two others to the FPSO Cidade de Mangalore. These platforms will be installed and will start operations in the second half of this year.
