Petrofac extends Bibby Stockholm coastel charter

Bibby Stockholm coastel is currently located in Lerwick, Shetland Islands, and has been located there since April 2013. The accommodation vessel has been housing hundreds of workers from the Sullom Voe Laggan Tormore project.

A coastel is a floating accommodation vessel suitable for mooring alongside a berth or quay. It can be used to accommodate workers on projects taking place in remote locations or where existing accommodation is expensive or difficult to find.

“We are receiving great feedback from the guests staying onboard Bibby Stockholm, and hope we can continue to provide high quality accommodation to projects in the Shetlands for some time,” said Jane Rogers, Accommodation Manager at Bibby Maritime.

Petrofac has also requested to have a further two x 1-month options following this period, should their accommodation requirements continue after September.

According to Bibby Maritime, the owner of the coastel, the unit offers 213 en-suite bedrooms alongside a kitchen and restaurant, gymnasium, relaxation/games rooms and laundry facilities.
