Petronet LNG approves Dahej expansion to 17.5 mtpa

Petronet LNG of India said its Board of Directors has given green light for the expansion of Dahej terminal’s capacity to 17.5 million tonnes per annum.

Encouraged by the growth potential at Dahej, the Board of Directors has given go ahead for further expansion of terminal beyond 15 mtpa for adding another 2.50 mtpa capacity,” India’s largest LNG importer said in a statement on Monday.

Petronet LNG is already working on expanding Dahej’s capacity from 10 mtpa to 15 mtpa.

According to the statement, expansion works at the terminal are continuing as per schedule and are expected to be complete by November, 2016.

During the year ended March 31, the Dahej LNG terminal processed 521 TBTUs, which translates into a capacity utilisation of 102 percent, Petronet added.
