PGNiG Resumes Libya Gas Exploration

Mr Marek Karabuła, Vice-President of the Management Board of PGNiG in charge of Petroleum Mining since May 12th 2012, will serve as President of the Management Board of POGC Libya B.V.

Consequently, on May 11th 2012, Mr Karabuła tendered resignation from his position on the PGNiG Management Board and his position as Chairman of the Supervisory Board of POGC Libya B.V.  However, Mr Karabuła will continue to serve as member of the Supervisory Board of PGNiG Norway AS.

Mr Karabuła’s new appointment is connected with resumption of activities on the Murzuq licence in western Libya and preparation for drilling work.

Since the beginning of 2011, POGC Libya has performed 3D geophysical surveys covering an area of 1.5 thousand square kilometres. 2D surveys including 2.5 thousand kilometres of profiles have also been finalised.

Gas exploration work will be resumed after more than a year from the suspension of POGC Libya’s operations caused by the unstable political situation in the country.
