Pharos Offshore Recovers Faulty Cable at Walney OWF

Pharos Offshore’s hydraulic cable grab and offshore personnel have successfully supported and completed the recovery of a faulty cable section at the 367.2 MW Walney offshore wind farm in the Irish Sea.

The cable grab had been built to client specification for this project and was delivered to Liverpool Port within a 6 day turnaround onboard the research/survey vessel, Edda Fonn.

The Walney offshore wind farm is located approximately 15km off Walney Island, Cumbria, and it was officially inaugurated in February 2012.

Walney 1 and Walney 2 both comprise 51 3.6MW turbines with capacity to produce enough clean energy for approximately 320,000 UK households.
