Maersk Voyager drillship kicks off Eni contractMaersk Drilling’s ultra deepwater drillship Maersk Voyager has started its contract with Eni Ghana Exploration and Production Ltd. 

According to Maersk Drilling’s social media updates, the contract and drilling operations on Eni’s Offshore Cape Three Points (OCTP) Project started this Saturday, July 11, 2015. The company also added that the acceptance test was conducted in just ten days.

Maersk Voyager was delivered to Maersk Drilling on February 6, 2015 from the Samsung Heavy Industries (SHI) shipyard in Geoje-Si in South-Korea. It was awarded the contract to work for Eni offshore Ghana in March 2015.

The contract is firm for 3.5 years and it has an option to extend by one year. The total estimated revenue from the firm contract is $545 million including mobilisation and escalations.
