Oilfield services provider TechnipFMC has informed via social media channels that it completed work on Eni’s Jangkrik project in deep water offshore Indonesia.

TechnipFMC said on Tuesday that the project had a wide-ranging scope of work including subsea trees, manifolds, umbilicals, flowlines, and an onshore facility.

The company added that the project was delivered on time for an accelerated first gas date.

Prior to their merger, both Technip and FMC Technologies were in 2014 awarded contracts for work on the Jangkrik development.

The contract awarded to Technip covered the engineering, procurement, commissioning, and installation of 36 kilometers of flexible risers and flowlines with diameters ranging from 4″ to 14″, 195 kilometers of pipeline with diameter ranging from 4″ to 24″, and subsea equipment which includes mid-water arch and flowline end termination.

Technip was also contracted to install 51 kilometers of umbilicals, five manifolds, and seven SSIV subsea structures and associated flying leads.

On the other hand, FMC Technologies was contracted for supplying subsea trees, manifolds, jumpers and connection systems, umbilicals, tooling, and associated topside and subsea controls systems worth $720 million.

Jangkrik

The Jangkrik project comprises the gas fields Jangkrik and Jangkrik North East, located in the Muara Bakau block, Kutei basin, in the deep water of Makassar Strait.

Production from ten deep-water subsea wells, connected to the newly built Floating Production Unit (FPU) Jangkrik, will reach 450 million standard cubic feet per day (mmscf/d). The FPU was named in March at Saipem Karimun Yard in Indonesia.

The gas, once processed onboard the FPU, flows via pipeline to the onshore receiving facility and then through the East Kalimantan Transportation System, finally reaching the Bontang gas liquefaction plant.

Production start-up was in May 2017, some three and a half years after the project sanctioning while the first shipment of LNG produced for the Indonesian domestic market by the Jangkrik field was in late June.
