Origin Energy said on Thursday that the Australia Pacific LNG (APLNG) project is progressing in line with budget and is on track for first LNG in mid-2015.

The upstream part of the LNG project is about 71% complete, while the downstream project is 70% complete, according to Origin.

The APLNG project includes the development of natural gas from coal seams in the Surat and Bowen basins and construction of a gas transmission pipeline from the gas fields to an LNG facility on Curtis Island, off Gladstone.
