BW LNG, a unit of the Singapore-based shipping company BW Group, through its social media channels, released a photo of the BW GDF Suez Boston LNG carrier being escorted by tugs through the Boston harbor.

BW GDF Suez Boston, a 2003-built LNG carrier with the capacity to transport up to 138,059 cubic meters of liquefied natural gas, is a part of BW LNG’s fleet comprising 21 vessels, 16 vessels in operation and 5 newbuildings.

Located in the Boston harbor is the Everett LNG terminal that has been built in 1971 and acquired by Engie’s unit Electrabel in 2000.

The terminal receives LNG from a number of different countries, however, 80 percent of the deliveries come from Trinidad and Tobago. The terminal meets 20 percent of the regional market demand for natural gas.
