Picture of the day: GoFLNG Hilli at Keppel Shipyard

Golar’s FLNG Hilli, the 125,000-cbm liquefied natural gas carrier being converted to the floating liquefaction unit at Singapore’s Keppel Shipyard is set to start its eight-year contract in 2017.
Golar recently informed that the conversion project remains on schedule and within its US$1.2 billion budget.
As of June 30, 2016, $588 million have been spent on the conversion project, Golar LNG said.
The Bermuda-based owner and operator of liquefied natural gas carriers, further noted that with the suspension of Engie’s proposed land-based LNG project and discussions with its partners in Cameroon, local authorities and key stakeholders, Golar is optimistic that increased utilisation of the FLNG Hilli can be achieved after production start-up.
Golar, Perenco and Société Nationale des Hydrocarbures (SNH) have been developing the project offshore Cameroon for the past two years.
It is based on the allocation of 500 Bcf of natural gas reserves from offshore Kribi fields, which will be exported to global markets via the FLNG Hilli, with an expected production of 1.2 mtpa of LNG, representing approximately 50 percent of the vessel’s nameplate production capacity.
The final investment decision for the Cameroon FLNG project has been reached in September last year, with commissioning set for the second quarter of 2017.
