Picture of the Day: New Sand Arrives at Keansburg Beach (USA)
The main goal of the Keansburg beach replenishment program was to create a wider, higher beach and to restore the dunes.
The USACE’s New York District placed nearly one million cubic yards of sand onto three miles of shoreline along Raritan Bay to repair and restore the previously-engineered beach and dune there impacted by Hurricane Sandy.
