Picture of the day: Yemen LNG jetty

Yemen LNG, the operator of the country’s only liquefaction plant, has in November last year marked the fifth anniversary of the first LNG cargo that departed from the Balhaf facility, on the Gulf of Aden.

The proven gas reserves are sufficient to produce and export 6.7 Mtpa of LNG per annum for at least the next 20 years to its long-term customers in the North American and South Korean markets, and potentially also to new customers in the future, according to Yemen LNG’s website.

The total-operated Yemen LNG project consists of two liquefaction trains. It has three long-term contracts to supply LNG to GDF Suez, Kogas and Total Gas & Power.
