PILOT Share Fair to focus on improving efficiency and cost reduction
The UK oil and gas industry’s urgent need to improve its efficiency and reduce costs will provide a key focus of Oil & Gas UK’s 2014 PILOT Share Fair at Aberdeen’s Exhibition and Conference Centre on Wednesday November 5, 2014.
A few places remain for the event, sponsored by Dräger, which businesses across the UK recognise as invaluable for exchanging market intelligence and engaging in open dialogue on business opportunities on the UK Continental Shelf, Oil & Gas UK says.
“PILOT Share Fair has long promoted the spirit of collaboration, enabling major purchasers with upcoming UKCS projects to increase their awareness of the expertise, innovative products and specialised services offered by suppliers from throughout Britain,” Stephen Marcos Jones, Oil & Gas UK’s business development director, says.
Oonagh Werngren, Oil & Gas UK’s operations director, said: “In the past three years, operating expenditure in the mature North Sea has increased by 62 per cent and it is increasingly difficult to compete for investment on the global stage. The industry faces the challenge of improving exploration success, increasing recovery and safely extending the operating lives of oil and gas fields while also working to overcome the impact of declining oil prices.
“The need for collaborative effort to reduce costs and optimise resources is more urgent than ever and PILOT Share Fair plays a significant role in facilitating this process by bringing both the industry’s purchasers and its suppliers together.”
Stephen Marcos Jones, Oil & Gas UK’s business development director, added: “PILOT Share Fair has long promoted the spirit of collaboration, enabling major purchasers with upcoming UKCS projects to increase their awareness of the expertise, innovative products and specialised services offered by suppliers from throughout Britain. In turn, the supply chain benefits from hearing advance information on future business opportunities and invaluable opportunities to establish contacts with key decision makers.”
