Pocasset River Dredging Plan Moves Ahead (USA)

The Natural Resources and Engineering Departments have initiated the planning for the Pocasset River dredging project.

There is also planning contemplated for a town-wide dredging permit that would cove dredge projects along the approach to the Cohasset Narrows off Taylors Point and the south channel below Bassets Island in Cataumet where the channel is narrowing,” stated Harbormaster Tim Mullen.

The Pocasset River is a small tidal river and estuary on the eastern shore of Buzzards Bay, in Bourne, Massachusetts. It is located between the villages of Monument Beach and Pocasset at the western coast of Cape Cod.

The City of Pocasset had hoped the Corps of Engineers would conduct maintenance dredging toward the Cohasset Narrows,” concluded Mullen.
