Poland - Remontowa Launches Multipurpose Platform Supply Vessel

REMONTOWA Shipbuilding today, on April 20th 2012, held the launching ceremony for multipurpose Platform Supply Vessel. The vessel which has been launched is built for an American Owner from Louisiana, who operates a growing fleet of over 200 vessels serving an expanding global customer base.

Construction of this vessel was carried out as the result of the contract signed by newly established Contracting Office in REMONTOWA SHIPBUILDING S.A..

The vessel will be equipped with the Diesel – Electric power system – whose power generators will produce electricity which will be used for propulsion through the electric drive motors. Such power system enables most cost efficient exploitation, reduction of fuel consumption and lower emission of NOx and SOx to the atmosphere.

The vessels will be able to fulfill the general demands of the offshore industry as carriage of liquid mud, dry bulk, and special products like methanol, pipes and other general cargo on open deck.

Deck area of 1000 m2 at 10t/m2 allows for carriage of goods in the range of 2500 tons, dangerous goods in tanks under the deck with a total capacity of the vessel about 5300 DWT. The vessel will be one of the biggest in her class. The vessel will be equipped with advanced control systems, dynamic positioning DP2 as well as fire-fighting equipment FiFi-1 class and Oil Recovery operations.

The vessel is being built under supervision of Classification Society – American Bureau of Shipping according to the project elaborated by MMC Ship Design & Marine Consulting Ltd from Gdynia / Poland.
