Port of Koper receives EU funds for LNG facility

Slovenian Port of Koper informed that it has been awarded €300,000 under the Connecting Europe Facility open call for grants published by the Innovation & Networks Executive Agency.

The project named Gainn4Mos will be managed by Fundacion Valenciaport and is focused on the implementation of the EU Directive on the establishment of the infrastructure for the supply of liquefied natural gas and alternative energy products, the port informed in a statement.

The Port of Koper intends to engage in discussion with Istrabenz Plini to assess the possibility to supply LNG to port users. Istrabenz Plini is proposing a pilot LNG filing station project for commercial vehicles at Sermin.

The funds were awarded as a part of a total  €6.5 million grant the Port of Koper received for three projects intended to improve the port’s infrastructure.
