Brasco, a Wilson Sons Group company, has partnered with APM Terminals Pecém to set up a temporary logistics base at the Pecém Industrial and Port Complex, APM Terminals said in an update on Monday.

Brasco signed a contract with Premier Oil to provide logistical support for its drilling operations in Ceará Basin earlier in January 2020.

It will be the first offshore port support operation to take place in Ceará, Brazil, according to APM.

Scheduled to start in the first half of 2020, the logistics base will support the drilling of a well in block CE-M-717, located in the Ceará Basin and operated by Premier Oil.

Among the services to be provided are cargo receiving and storage, water supply and other consumables for the offshore platform, as well as waste management and tank cleaning.

Premier Oil has recently hired a Valaris-owned drillship, DS-9, to drill the Berimbau/Maraca stacked prospects on its operated Block 717 in the Ceará Basin in Brazil. The well is scheduled to spud in the third quarter and is targeting unrisked resource of 300 mmbbls.

Premier was awarded its interest in Block CE-M-717 in Brazil’s 11th Bidding Round in 2013. The company has a 50% operated interest in the block.
