Product Tanker Gascogne Released

Sea Tankers reported that its product tanker Gascogne has been released and confirmed that the vessel is now safely travelling under the full direction of its Master.

The Gascogne was taken over by pirates off the Ivory Coast. The company lost contact with the vessel on Sunday morning. The ship has now been released.

“We are very pleased that all 17 seafarers are reported safe, however sadly two seafarers were injured during the incident but are taken care off,” the company said in a press release.

Sea Tankers also expressed their gratitude to the naval forces, state authorities and all persons involved in helping to bring this incident to a safe conclusion.
