PSA Inspects Johan Sverdrup’s Riser Facility

The Petroleum Safety Authority (PSA) has carried out an audit of Statoil’s design engineering of the Johan Sverdrup riser facility.

Statoil is the operator of Johan Sverdrup oil field, located in the North Sea around 155 kilometers west of Karmøy in Rogaland county.

The PSA has carried out an audit of design engineering of risers and conductor casings for the riser facility.

The audit was carried out as meetings with Statoil and Kværner in Oslo in May 2016.

The purpose of the audit was to monitor Statoil’s follow-up of suppliers and verify that the project was being planned and executed in compliance with the regulatory requirements and recognized norms, PSA said.

No non-conformities were detected during the audit.

Improvement points were detected relating to non-conformity handling and verification activities.
